The biggest shopping opportunities in the district are the Stadtgalerien in Schwaz.
There are numerous sports clubs (football, volleyball,...) & offers (tennis, diving, sailing, archery, windsurfing, yoga, climbing,...) throughout the region.
Winter
In winter there are numerous ski areas in the Schwaz district. There are many great ski areas in the Zillertal in particular, such as Hochfügen, Hochzillertal, Zillertal Arena, Mayrhofen or Hintertux. The area around the Achensee is characterized by many beautiful cross-country ski trails. You can then relax in the Therme Atoll (Achensee) or Fügen (Zillertal).
Summer
In summer you can go hiking in the Zillertal and on Lake Achensee. But also white water rafting on the Ziller or various water sports on the Achensee are possible options. For climbing fans, the Achensee adventure park, the Tyrol outdoor center or the Gerlos high ropes course or the Pfeilspitzwand in Mayrhofen are just the thing. Furthermore, various outdoor pools (including Jenbach, Schwaz, Fügen, Stumm) lure you into the cool water.
Culture
In Schwaz there are always numerous events such as concerts, theater and cabaret. In addition to numerous city and village festivals, the annual city festival or the folk music Gauderfest in the Zillertal is also recommended. In winter, the local Christmas markets in Schwaz are also very nice. At the Achensee, the solstice celebrations in particular are a special experience.
Achensee
The largest lake in Tyrol has a lot to offer as an excursion destination: enjoy a relaxing boat tour (approach Pertisau) or try stand-up paddling, wind or kite surfing (in Maurach) or sailing (Pertisau). There is also the opportunity to go diving near Achenkirch. In winter there are also numerous cross-country ski runs to try out.
